Referring agencies

To come to AMAC, you need to be referred by a doctor. The referral doctor may be your own G.P. or an agency such as Family Planning or Sexual Health. The doctor who makes the abortion referral is the doctor who will be taking care of you after your discharge from the clinic, so using your own family doctor has the benefits of he/she knowing you and your past medical and social history. This doctor will discuss the options you have when facing an unplanned or unwanted pregnancy and may suggest decision counselling before referring you.
